The Marlborough/Nelson Centre of Piping & Dancing Association of NZ Inc held their annual "Top of the South" championships this past weekend. Over 100 dancers travelled from North and South Islands to attend this annual championship competition.

2012 Marlborough/Nelson Champions trophies were won by:

• 6 & under - Most Points Georgia Eagle (Chch), Runner Up: Lola Van Dyk (Porirua)
• Under 8 - Most Points Zoe Francis (Blenheim), Runner Up: Oskar Trafford(Ashburton)
• Under 10 - Most Points Charlotte Sloper (Ashburton), Runner Up: Bella Rose (Blenheim)
• Under 12 - Most Points Brooke Smith (Timaru), Runner Up: Charlotte Sloper (Ashburton)
• Under 14 - Most Points Brooke Smith (Timaru), Runner Up: Hannah Roche (Blenheim)
• Under 16 - Most Points Isabelle Merwood (Hastings), Runner Up: Hannah Roche (Blenheim)
• Under 18 - Most Points Shirana Rengasamy (Blenheim), Runner Up: Lewis Gibson (Chch)
• Open - Most Points Rachel Crampton (Blenheim), Runner Up: Jayden Withington (Hastings)
